RIDING NORTH CAROLINA TRAINS 
IS LESS STRESSFUL THAN DRIVING

From Raleigh or Cary, you can conveniently ride an Amtrak train to seven cities along I-85 (Durham, Burlington, Greensboro, High Point, Salisbury, Kannapolis and Charlotte) and two sizable cities to the east (Wilson and Rocky Mount), and return home the same day.

For a return trip, train travel has six segments – home-to-station drive, wait-for-train, the train trip going, wait-for-return-train, the return train trip, and the station-to-home drive. Driving a car just has two, going and returning. Each segment can produce a different stress level even on good weather days; on bad weather days, the stress of driving will be higher for the driver and passengers, while train passengers may see no variation at all....
